California education rights attorney Jennifer Chang has been selected to the 2027 Southern California Super Lawyers® list in the practice area of Schools & Education, marking her second consecutive year receiving the distinction.
Jennifer represents students with disabilities and their families throughout California, advocating for their rights under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and other federal and state education laws. Her work includes helping families address Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), assessments, educational services, accommodations, and disputes with public school districts.
“Families should not have to become legal experts to secure the educational support their children deserve. My role is to help them understand their rights, find their voice, and advocate from a position of knowledge and strength. That work is what makes this recognition especially meaningful.”
Jennifer Chang, Education Rights Attorney
Jennifer’s advocacy extends beyond her law practice. She supports the next generation of children’s rights advocates through a scholarship she established at Southwestern Law School for first-generation students working in the Children’s Rights Clinic. Her past roles include serving on the Advisory Board of the Korean American Special Education Center and working with the T.I.G.E.R. program in Los Angeles to teach Korean-speaking families about special education rights and self-advocacy.
